Itinerary

Day 1: Depart Accra in the morning for the Central Region, reaching Kakum National Park in about 3–3.5 hours. Begin with a briefing at the visitor centre, then take a guided walk along forest trails and experience the canopy walkway. Enjoy lunch at a local eatery and spend the afternoon birdwatching and exploring the forest floor. Return to Accra in the evening for day trips, or check into a nearby lodge for overnight packages.

Day 2 (Eco Adventure & Premium): Start the day with an early morning wildlife walk to spot elephants and other animals. Visit the park’s conservation education centre and relax in the lush surroundings. For premium packages, continue with a nocturnal safari led by park rangers before departing back to Accra.

Travel Information & Pricing

Kakum National Park is located about 170 km west of Accra in Ghana's Central Region. The drive from Accra takes roughly 3 hours and 15 minutes. Travellers can also fly from Accra to Takoradi (45 minutes) and then drive for about 1 hour and 45 minutes to reach the park.
